Communication professionals are used to helping our employers and clients understand “Communication with a big C” – things like communication strategy and tactical skills, how to develop plans and measure their impact.

But what really matters – in business and in life – is “small-c communication,” the everyday, organic communication that takes place between co-workers, bosses and employees, family members and friends. There is tremendous power in “small-c communication” if we understand what it is and how to use it effectively.

In this program, you will discover the importance of “small-c communication,” how to use it to break down barriers and how to shut down the internal editors that often keep us from taking advantage of it.

Robert J. Holland is owner of Holland Communication Solutions, a full-service consulting firm based in Richmond. For nearly 25 years, Robert has helped organizations understand how communication can help them achieve their goals.

Prior to launching his consulting practice in 2000, Robert worked for AT&T, Lucent Technologies and Capital One. As an independent consultant, he has helped dozens of organizations ranging from Fortune 500 firms to nonprofits to small businesses.

He was twice president of IABC/Richmond and served three years on the IABC Executive Board.
