Attract More Business with Enews and Facebook Campaigns

Although many business owners think of Email Newsletters and social sites, like Facebook, as "Free Advertising," and a chance to reach thousands of new prospects, they often get no results -- or worse yet, damage their image without even being aware of it.

This meeting will begin with a quick overview of how these new media strategies can best be integrated into your business "marketing mix." Learn how to avoid the most common marketing mistakes that waste thousands -- as well as cost your business thousands in lost sales!

Learn how to approach these low-cost tools effectively. We'll touch on how to make the most of these technologies to attract more business, and continue to grow your database of qualified prospects. We'll also discuss acceptable business etiquette for this new media, to ensure you keep your business' reputation intact!

A brief introduction to Facebook Campaigns will be included. This new potent online service can be used to promote your products and services inexpensively! It should be a lively discussion. We welcome audience participation, and sharing your own experiences.

Our speaker, Joyce Davis, President of Square One Creative, has been working in Marketing Communications and Advertising for over 20 years. She relocated to Richmond, Virginia, from San Francisco in 2003, and brings with her the latest marketing knowledge and techniques.

Joyce has worked for many of the largest agencies and design studios in the San Francisco Bay Area as an award-winning art director/designer, as well as consultant to her own corporate and non-profit clients. Her extensive experience and professional alliances with top-notch suppliers makes her an excellent project manager.

Networking begins at 11:45 a.m., and the luncheon program begins at 12:15 p.m.

Cost: $25 for members and students; $30 for non-members.

Diversity & Inclusion: A Key to Unlocking Employee Engagement

When the term diversity comes to mind, people often think of race, gender, sexual orientation, and disabilities; however, the word diversity covers a lot more.  Individuals come from different socio-economic, religious, educational, and geographic backgrounds, and have many other attributes that make us unique.  This is a key to employee engagement because our uniqueness gives us an opportunity to contribute different ideas and perspectives in the workplace.  We’ll discuss different facets of diversity and the link between diversity, inclusion, and employee engagement.

Our speaker, Consuelo Adkins, is a Workplace Learning Professional, Diversity & Inclusion Team Leader, and Site Communications Coordinator for Pfizer’s Richmond Manufacturing Facility.  While in her diversity role, the Richmond site won the 2009 Employer All Star Diversity Excellence Award.

Consuelo has always been intrigued by unique perspectives.  Her passion for diversity began in high school when she took her first sociology class and discovered a world of different cultures and societies.   She went on to earn a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Virginia, where she also served as a Multicultural Education teaching assistant for a semester.  Consuelo recently earned an M.A. in Professional Counseling from Liberty University, where she gained a greater understanding about the need for cultural competence.

Networking begins at 11:45 a.m., and the luncheon program begins at 12:15 p.m.

Cost: $25 for members and students; $30 for non-members.
